The Internship Role
We are seeking a Frontend Developer Intern to assist in transforming human-centred designs into responsive and secure web applications. You will work at the intersection of elegant design and robust engineering, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to contribute to software that makes a global impact. This internship requires a strong interest in security-first development practices, ethical considerations in technology, and the ability to learn and adapt quickly.
Core... Responsibilities
• Assist in implementing and optimizing UI designs for performance, speed, and efficiency across devices and browsers
• Collaborate with backend developers, product managers, and UI designers
• Contribute to the development of secure, scalable, and efficient code
• Learn and apply security practices throughout the development lifecycle
• Participate in testing and debugging processes, including security-focused testing
• Engage with emerging technologies, industry trends, and security best practices in frontend development
• Rapidly acquire new skills and apply them to ongoing projects
Required Skills and Qualifications
• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to learn new technologies and concepts quickly
• Strong foundation in programming fundamentals
• Proficiency in JavaScript, CSS, and HTML and demonstrated ability to write clean, well-documented code
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
• Keen interest in security and ethical considerations in software development
Additional Desirable Qualities
• Experience with AI-assisted coding software
• Familiarity with modern frontend frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js)
• Understanding of state management libraries (e.g., Redux, Context API)
• Awareness of user experience (UX) design principles and web accessibility standards
• Interest in national security and defense technology applications
