Job purpose - major duties and responsibilities of the job
An experienced Process Engineer/ Analyst is required to support a firm-wide process mapping initiative with a focus on process risk management and control enhancement.
The Process Engineer will lead the scoping and mapping of processes for a number of functional areas within CLS, creating maps to an agreed standard (e.g. BPMN 2.0).
They will coordinate cross-functional workshops to review process risks and identify process related controls as well as opportunities for control enhancements.
The Process Engineer will liaise with and facilitate collaboration between 1st and 2nd lines of defense.
They will manage their own workload and manage delivery against agreed plans.
The Process Engineer will also be responsible for knowledge transfer to functional areas, enabling them to maintain their function’s process related documentation.
Operational
• Map multiple cross-functional processes based on a defined standard (BPMN 2.0), producing high-quality materials with an attention to detail.
• Lead workshops and meetings with a diverse set of stakeholders, including 1st and 2nd line colleagues, functional experts (e.g. IT Security, Data Protection), etc. to: map process steps; review process risks; identify and document controls and control enhancements.
• Plan and manage own workload ensuring timely delivery of quality-focused work packages.
• Ensure progress updates are communicated effectively to Senior Management at regular intervals.
Strategic
• Help improve the overall Business Process Management programme of work and embed it into the fabric of CLS.
• Promote a culture of good practice Process Management within CLS advocating for the same to a diverse set of stakeholders including senior management.
• Build industry best practices into the programme of work.
Leadership
• Ability to obtain buy-in from all team members, including Senior Management to drive the programme of work forward.
• Take responsibility for leading virtual teams on mapping initiatives and improvement initiatives, clearly articulating the requirement for the performance of all tasks.
Knowledge, skills and abilities - competencies required for successful job performance
Experience
• Significant experience in mapping processes using Microsoft Visio is a must. Experience using other process modelling tools beneficial.
• Knowledge and experience of risks and controls is important. Experience in technology related controls beneficial.
• Experience in working in Financial Services or Consultancy is essential.
• Previous ownership of process focused initiatives.
• Circa 5 years in Financial Services or Consultancy.
Competencies
• Strong MS Office skills including Visio. Experience with other process mapping software is desirable.
• Strong communication skills: ability to articulate and adapt approach to Senior Management, being comfortable addressing and standing up to challenge
• Strong team player: demonstrates success with working with individuals at all levels within an organization. Collaborative in style and approach
• Strong organizational skills: disciplined with an ability to multi-task across departments while articulating a consistent message regarding the programme of work
• Quality minded with attention to detail
• Can self-manage and self-motivate
