What are we... looking for?
The ideal candidate will be an intermediate development DBA with experience in collaborating with Application development teams to select, design and promote performant databases to Production and manage future change. Also to help fix issues to enable optimal performance and high availability.
Candidate should have a database background with EITHER:
NoSQL – Mandatory Couchbase and/or Cassandra (other Nosql a bonus)
OR
RDBMS – Mandatory Postgres (SQL Server or Oracle a bonus)
Candidates must be self-motivated and willing to pick up new database challenges, with an ability to think outside the box and not rely on runbooks. They must be prepared to work outside normal working hours from time to time.
The ideal candidate must have good English communication skill, Linix/bash, DevOps skills (GIT, Liquibase, Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, Python) and be used to working in an agile environment (Rally, Jira, Confluence, Kanban).Knowledge of database implementation on the Cloud would be a bonus but not essential.
How will you make an impact in this role?
Work closely with development teams to to produce world class Applications on the most suitable database platform. Update and improve these systems for best performance and high availability. Understand the business need and the best way to make this a reality in an agile environment. Adapt to new technology and develop new skills. This is not a Production DB Support role although some skills in that area may be beneficial.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduate/ Postgraduate qualifications in an IT related area. Proven experience of working with Databases ideally in financial company / Fintech.
Preferred Qualifications
Current Certifications in the relevant database technologies.
