Job Descrption
1 Year Fixed Term based at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust (ICHT).
The primary aim of the role is to manage the development and delivery of educational quality improvement projects up to the evaluation of the pilot stage and planning for full roll-out.
The postholder will be required to liaise with a range of stakeholders across the Trust in order scope, develop and evaluate these projects.
The priority work-streams established for undergraduate and postgraduate medical education for this year as a result of national and local directives have been identified as:
• Exploring and mapping capacity for our clinical placements for medical students in line with the long-term workforce plan, developing a proposal to expand numbers and evaluate the delivery model.
• Reviewing current digital teaching technologies and explore solutions to enable education delivery to become more agile and respond to learner needs.
• Reviewing our workforce development programmes, including CESR and... core surgery equivalence, and provide support for teaching and simulation.
• Refresh/improve the community outreach programme, working closely with the clinical lead and Imperial College London Widening Participation team.
The post holder will be expected to:
• Focus on the priority list above as part of their fellowship.
• Explore and map capacity for our undergraduate clinical placements across the Trust.
• Create project plans and documentation ensuring that operational handover to colleagues in the Medical Education Directorate is successfully achieved at the end of the fellowship.
• Support the specific educational activities and events as required, and on occasion co-deliver clinical/simulation teaching sessions (limited to 8 per year).

Education/ qualifications
• Eligible to enter ST3+ training in chosen specialty
• Full Royal College Membership
Desirable
• Postgraduate Certificate in Education
• Project management qualification
Knowledge/skills
• Understanding of project management principles
• Awareness of current educational initiatives with regard to: patient safety, quality improvement, risk management, cross-speciality training
• Strong IT skills across MS Office
• Self-motivating with a flexible approach to work and ability to work independently
• Able to manage simultaneous workstreams and deliver to deadlines
• Good writing skills, able to write in different formats for a range of audiences
• Methodical and organised in managing information and processes
• Confident presentation skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in partnership with others across the range of professions and levels of seniority
• Effective team working skills both as leader and team member
