An outstanding mainstream Primary school in Waltham Forest, London is currently recruiting a SEN Teaching Assistant to support children with Social and Emotional Mental Health Needs (SEMH).
Located in the heart of Waltham Forest, London we are looking for a bright and enthusiastic individuals who have qualified in Psychology, Counselling or Criminology. However, candidates with relevant experience will also be considered!
The School is accessible from locations such as Essex, Redbridge, Haringey, Barking & Dagenham, Newham due to the great transport links. This is a full time position and with the view of successful candidates being able to start immediately (October 2024).
As an SEN teaching Assistant, you will be working 1:1 and in small groups with... children across key stage one & two. Assisting pupils with emotional needs and behavioural challenges and supporting individual's wellbeing and personal development.
This is an excellent opportunity for the successful mental health assistant to work alongside the therapists and psychologists based on-site at school. You will be mentored and have the opportunity to shadow sessions and learn from them. Plus you will gain invaluable experience working with Special Needs and Mental Health issues. This is a great opportunity for an aspiring educational or occupational psychologist, therapeutic support worker or SEN teacher.

• Full-time Mon-Fri 8.30am to 4pm

The school has fantastic resources and state of the art facilities to support the children across all year groups. If you have previous experience as a teaching assistant and understand their complex needs and is open-minded and up for a challenge this could be the next step in your career. Suitable experience can include working with SEN children and/or adults in any setting, even on a personal level such as with family. Level 3 qualifications+ are also required and a Degree would be most desirable.
