Job Descrption
Our client is a highly respected and rapidly growing hedge fund with a global presence, operating out of London and Dubai. They specialize in multi-asset class trading, with a strong focus on energy markets. The hedge fund’s Oil Products Desk is a leader in trading light ends products (gasoline, naphtha, LPG) and is known for its innovative, data-driven approach. They are currently seeking a Junior Trader to join their Light Ends Desk, assisting in trading, risk management, and market analysis.
Key Responsibilities
• Support the Light Ends Desk in executing trades in oil products such as gasoline, naphtha, and LPG across international markets.
• Conduct detailed market analysis using both fundamental and quantitative methods.
• Assist senior traders with risk management, exposure tracking, and portfolio monitoring.
• Stay updated on market-moving news, geopolitical events, and supply/demand factors impacting global oil markets.
• Prepare daily market reports, trade... ideas, and performance summaries for the desk.
• Collaborate closely with risk management, compliance, and operational teams to ensure seamless trade execution.
• Contribute to the development of trading strategies through market insight and data analysis.
Candidate Profile
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Strong analytical and numerical capabilities, with proficiency in Excel, VBA, and Bloomberg. Familiarity with Python or SQL is a plus.
• Demonstrable interest in energy markets, specifically oil products and related derivatives.
• Ability to thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced trading environment.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with a global team.
• Ideally, 1-2 years of experience in oil products trading, research, or the oil & gas industry
• A self-starter with high attention to detail and a strong passion for trading.
