Legal Assistant – Litigation/Commercial & Contracts/Safeguarding

We are looking for a Legal Assistant in the Litigation team
Tower Hamlets is the youngest and fastest-growing borough in London and as part of the Borough’s legal team you will be right in the heart of it.
This is a permanent job, full time (35 hours per week).

Key Responsibilities
You will be supporting a very busy Litigation Team, reporting to the Principal Lawyer - Litigation. Your support work will include assisting in a variety of civil litigation matters which are dealt with by the team including possession proceedings, disrepair, judicial review claims, parking enforcement, breaches of lease terms and anti-social behaviour matters. Your role will include assisting in the preparation of applications for gas... access warrants in the Magistrates’ Court, preparation of bundles, drafting applications and other documentation. You may be required to undertake advocacy in the Magistrates’ Court for gas warrants and similar matters.
Requirements:
• Experience of the processing of fee notes and dealing with chambers will be an advantage.
• The ability to work flexibly and at pace.
• You will have passed the Legal Practice Course or SQE1.
If other Legal Assistant posts become available in other teams within six months, your application may be considered for these posts.
