Reporting into the Quality Lab Manager, you will be responsible for physical, microbiological, and sensory Quality assurance analyses for the Camden Town Brand. You will be expected to communicate and record results in a timely manner, with occasional cross-functional collaboration to identify root cause.
The role:
• Undertake routine physical, microbiological, and sensory analysis to the highest standards
• Management and prioritisation of samples depending on requirements of Brewing and Packaging
• Maintaining a high standard of hygiene
• Maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment
• Management of consumable stock
• Coordination of sample testing externally when required
• Complete and interpret required data entry and... report results OTIF
• Manage hold beer inspections and ensure block stock is quarantined as per business standard protocol
• On occasion, support Quality compliance officer, packaging or brewing with projects
Who we’re looking for:
• Knowledge and practical experience in an analytical or microbiology laboratory with familiarity with sterile working conditions, microbiology (plating and curing, PCR, spectrophotometry, cell counting etc.)
• Results focused with a strong attention to detail and an ability to work flexibly to achieve departmental goals.
• Strong organisational skills with a structured and systematic approach, adhering to deadlines, able to work on won initiative and prioritise workload effectively
Experience and Skills Required:
• Hold an Honours Degree in Microbiology, Brewing, Chemistry, Food Science or related scientific discipline
• Knowledge of microbiological/Chemical/Sensory practices within the food and beverage industry
• Knowledge of the quality management process
• Knowledge of manufacturing principles, tools, GLP and techniques
Shift Pattern:
40 hours per week Monday-Friday during an 8-hour day shift, you will be required to be flexible when needed. You will also be required to work bank holidays
