Housing Officer

Kingsmead Office – London based with a balance of home and office working

£37,207 - £39,165 per year

37.5 hours per week

We are looking to recruit a Housing Officer to join our London based Tenancy Management Team. You will be responsible for providing a high quality housing management service that meets the identified needs of customers and the wider community. This is a varied opportunity that will see you managing a range of situations and helping to build key relationships between Sanctuary Housing and our tenants. Enforcing tenancy terms and conditions, compliance, scheme inspections and managing scheme managers along with other related tasks. Working in a professional manner to resolve problems and improve services.

The job sits within Sanctuary Housing... Services which manages homes across England, providing general

rented housing, housing for older people, market rent properties, shared ownership and home ownership

accommodation. It also provides housing related services including lettings, debt management, compliance, tenancy management and customer service support.

The role of Housing Officer will include:
• Developing, build and maintain relationships with current and future customers and other key internal and external stakeholders to ensure the effective management of housing management services, identifying any shortfalls in service delivery and ensure these are acted upon
• Update and maintain all manual and computerised records in an accurate and timely manner to ensure compliance with the Group's Record Management and Data Protection policies
• Managing tenant expectations regarding repairs and escalating any property maintenance issues affecting tenant welfare via appropriate channels
• Managing complaints about service delivery
• Working with colleagues in other service areas to help the organisation meet its compliance obligations (fire safety, water hygiene, gas safety and data protection)
• Delivering general advice on all aspects of tenancy to enable sustainability
• Working with a range of external agencies to resolve a range of issues affecting tenant welfare including; domestic abuse, anti social behaviour and safeguarding
• Working closely with administrative colleagues to complete a range of tenancy management processes

Skills and experiences:
• Proven experience of undertaking a similar role
• Prior experience of delivering high quality tenancy services
• Excellent skills in analysing and diagnosing problems and implementing solutions
• Ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external customers
• Excellent customer service and negotiating skills
• An understanding of Microsoft Office packages including Word, Excel and Outlook
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• Working knowledge of relevant regulations and good practice
• Frequent travel using own vehicle will be a requirement of the role, therefore a full valid driving licence is essential
