We are seeking an exceptional Executive Chef to lead the culinary operations at a prestigious luxury hotel in Abuja, Nigeria. This property boasts over 400 rooms, 7 diverse F&B outlets, and impressive banqueting facilities accommodating up to 2,000 guests.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all culinary operations, including daily kitchen management, menu creation, and execution of high-quality dishes across multiple outlets.
Manage and mentor a large, multicultural culinary team, fostering professional growth and maintaining high standards.
Coordinate and execute large-scale banqueting operations, ensuring exceptional service and culinary excellence.
Demonstrate outstanding logistical skills to manage the complex demands of a high-volume, multi-outlet operation.
Ensure consistent quality and innovation in food offerings, adapting to guest preferences and market trends.
Maintain a high level of operational efficiency... cost control, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
Key Attributes for Candidates:
• Prior experience in Sub-Saharan Africa is a significant advantage.
• Experience working in remote or challenging locations.
• Strong logistics capabilities and a proven ability to manage complex operations.
• Excellent mentoring and training skills; firm but fair leadership style.
• A well-rounded culinary professional with advanced banqueting skills.
• Creative problem-solver who thrives under pressure and takes initiative.
• Solid background in the five-star market, with a proven track record in large properties.
• Formal qualifications such as City and Guilds or equivalent.
• Strong business acumen and exceptional guest contact skills.
• Stable tenure in the last three roles.
• Fluent in English with excellent communication skills.
