The individual will be expected to lead tasks and support project managers across the Company in the management of environmental and social issues across a wide range of very large infrastructure projects, in particular within the planning and urban design, and transport sectors, internationally and within the UK.
The individual must be able to demonstrate technical expertise, and will be required to deliver project requirements within budget and on time. Any experience of working within the environmental and social safeguard requirements of international finance (WB/IFC, EIB, AfDB, etc) will be valued.
Providing support on planning, ESIA/EIA, ESMS, SEA projects and be responsible for the delivery of project tasks to satisfy client requirements.
Assessment of very large infrastructure projects and programmes.
Supporting business development activities including proposal writing, project budget estimation, development of client relationships and pursuit of opportunities.
Supervising, managing and mentoring of junior staff, including outside the Environment team - urban planners, and interns.
Bachelors (2.1 or above) and/or Masters in a relevant environmental or ecological discipline.
Work Experience:
• 5-10 years of relevant work experience in ESIA / EIA (good understanding of the Ecological component is preferable).
• Strong report writing skills, with the ability to write clear and concise reports.
• Good knowledge and experience on international environmental and social safeguard standards (IFC, WB, EBRD, AfDB)
• Knowledge of UK EIA legislation and the UK planning system is desirable.
Air quality / Noise assessment / Water Resources / GIS skills
