Role Overview

This role will be based in our London office, in Canary Wharf.

This Role Is Responsible For
• Generating commission revenue for the Company and creating liquidity by obtaining dealing prices and interests from clients, for the desk.
• The role holder will create new business as well as developing and enhancing existing client relationships through identifying client needs and building strong working relationships with new and existing clients.
• The role holder will need to demonstrate a high level of product and market knowledge in order to provide a professional and profitable service to the Firm’s clients with an extensive knowledge of market data systems.
• The role holder will have a firm understanding of compliance regulations and FCA requirements, including a specific understanding of market practice and compliance regulations in relation to product.
• The role holder will adhere to relevant risks and controls in place including adhering to risk... limits, only service onboarded clients and perform /adhere to the key controls that impact the business.
• The role holder will ensure they keep abreast of market and regulatory developments in relation to their product area.

Regulatory Status

The role is Certified as defined under the Senior Manager & Certification Regime.

The role holder will operate at all in accordance with FCA and other relevant regulatory requirements and be fully aware of and act in accordance with relevant desk procedures and compliance and other policies and procedures.

The role holder will be able to demonstrate the following:
• 12 months minimum experience in Liquefied Natural Gas JKM market
• Personal and professional integrity and credibility.
• Confident and personable with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders and clients.
• Resilience, resolve, persistence, and competitive attitude with the ability to work in a high-pressured, intense environment.
• Is self-motivated and able to demonstrate initiative.

• Role modelling the organisation’s Core Values, escalating potential concerns or issues regarding market or personal conduct.

Technical Skills
• Strong attention to detail.
• Strong technical and Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong numerical skills with the ability to undertake complex analysis of data.
• Up to date relevant regulatory and product knowledge.

Control oversight

The role is responsible for adhering to the below control framework and market changes:

Key Daily Controls
• Pre-Trade execution checks (ensuring orders have been received over approved channels, that clients and instruments have been approved to trade, trades have been booked correctly and are within firm’s risk appetite).
• During Trade checks (ensure that amounts entered on an order are within fat finger tolerances to prevent data errors and that correct brokerage has been charged).
• Post-Trade checks (trade execution blocks are recorded accurately and reported within the required time window, trades are accurate and confirmed to clients, fees and charges are validated, trade execution legs match each other and are matched in the market).
• Intraday interaction with support functions in addressing any issues/exceptions that may arise as part of the daily business activity (e.g. cancel/amends, fails, unmatched matched principle, credit limits, extended settlements, kerb trades, unapproved trades, late booking etc.).
• EOD Desk attestation (if a delegate).

Other Controls
• Adherence to all Risk limits (e.g. credit utilization) and Compliance requirements.
• Desk Assistant / Trade Input Clerk oversight (one-on-one & PMO).
• Only service onboarded (CDD) approved clients.
• Be aware of regulatory changes and developments.
• Keep up to date with product development including new strategic initiatives.
