Requirements
• We are looking for highly motivated hands-on engineers who want to apply themselves to hard problems,
• Prior experience doing project teams or highly technical personal projects strongly desired,
• Currently enrolled in a bachelors or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related field,
• Must be a rising senior at the time of their internship and returning to school at the end of their internship to continue their academic studies for at least one quarter/semester,
• Demonstrated hands-on fabrication or laboratory skills,
• High competence with, and fluid use of, engineering first principles,
• U.S. Person status is required as this position needs to access export-controlled data,
• Ability to complete an in-person 12-week internship in Costa Mesa, CA,
• (Desirable) Collegiate project team or laboratory experience strongly preferred,
• (Desirable) Prior internship and/or leadership on a collegiate project team or laboratory,
• (Desirable... Experience in NX/Teamcenter, Solidworks, FEA and/or CFD analysis tools,
• (Desirable) Ability to integrate electrical components into designs (motors, controllers, sensors etc.),
• (Desirable) Experience with machining, sheet metal, injection molding, and/or 3D printing
What the job involves
• Use first principles physics as a basis for every decision,
• Perform analysis, design, build and/or test hardware as needed to successfully complete a project of significant scope in 12 weeks or less,
• Present design reviews, travel to test sites and vendors as needed
