Join the design team at our client, Simone Rocha as the Bag Designer in their London studio. Seeking a professional with at least 5 years of experience in luxury fashion and strong product development skills.
Role Summary
• Sole Bag Designer working in the London studio
• Requires minimum 5 years of experience in luxury fashion
• Strong product development knowledge
Technical Skills
• Proficient in CAD, Illustrator, Photoshop, or relevant 3D software
• Knowledge of leather handbags, small leather goods, soft bag constructions, pattern cutting, and hardware
• Experience with menswear accessories is advantageous
• Creating accurate tech-packs and CADs for factory and client communication
• Collaborate with design team on inspiration, style, and material development each season
• Excellent organization, time management, and budgeting skills
• Ensure all products meet quality standards and consider pricing strategies
• Comprehend the full design and development process... including its impact on sales and market positioning
• Possess a certifiable design qualification or relevant experience
Administrative Responsibilities
• Liaise with overseas suppliers; manage samples, quality control, and purchase orders
• Review product assortment consistently and take necessary actions
• Attend design, merchandising, and production meetings
• Experience working to a design/product development calendar
• Knowledge of Italian tanneries and European manufacturers/suppliers is a plus
Interpersonal Skills
• Collaborate with the design team throughout the collection range build-out
• Communicate with factories and suppliers, including written communication and personal visits
• Coordinate with the production team regarding manufacturer/supplier communication
• Awareness of the fashion and lifestyle marketplace
