The opportunity:
We’re looking for a lovely, fun florist who has experience in a busy, creative retail environment. The person must possess an inspiring work ethic, attention to detail and a really happy, friendly manner. Ideally, you will have at least 2 years of floristry experience and lots of energy and genuine enthusiasm. Additional must-haves; you need to be a good communicator, be able to engage with clients on a professional level and have the ability to create artful, beautiful florals, ensuring the utmost levels of service expectation.
Training and support will be given in order to develop or acquire the knowledge to assist our extensive and varied customer base as well as developing new clients.
Working hours will include weekends and Bank Holidays as required.
We are looking for part-time applicants but would consider full-time for the right candidate.
You will be based at our Camberwell Garden Store and may be called upon to work in our other locations.
Responsibilities:
You will need to work independently and alongside our other florists. You will also be required to support the Store Management in the daily operations of the store.
Create inspirational bouquets of your choice as well as following our bouquet guide
Prepare bouquets for delivery and collection
Conditioning flowers
Packaging bouquets
Stock management including watering and care of flowers and plants
You will be required to serve customers by email, telephone and in-store
Assists with the day-to-day running of the shop
Ordering and buying flowers
Managing orders
In the lead-up to peak seasons, such as Christmas, Valentine’s, Mothering Sunday etc. we would offer additional hours for those who are able to be flexible.
Customer service and sales - engaging customers pro-actively and promoting the highest standards of customer care and service
Advising customers on flower choice and care
Creating and maintaining attractive displays
A good working knowledge of Houseplants and their care requirements would be advantageous for this role
Ensuring the retail space is presentable and safe for customers
Any other ad hoc duties as requested by the management
You will work quickly, decisively and always with clear goals in mind.
You will be organised, self-motivated and responsible, taking ownership of your projects. You will enjoy collaborating with others.
Experience, Skills and Traits required:
Passionate about flowers and plants with a thorough understanding of flower and plant varieties, seasonal flowers, flower care and preparation
You will have lots of positive energy
You will take a hands-on, motivational and inspirational approach to your work
Supportive of your team, whilst ensuring a positive and fun environment
Must be computer literate with a good command of written and spoken English
You will be well-presented
Creative, engaging, polite and a good team player
An ability to work under pressure
Target and results-oriented, takes ownership and acts with integrity, with a focus on store profitability
