MEDICAL ADMINISTRATOR - Permanent
The school is seeking to appoint a self-motivated and organised individual to support co-ordination of operations within the Medical Centre. The postholder must be able to manage the various priorities with sensitivity and direction, have excellent interpersonal skills and IT skills, and the ability to adapt to ever evolving situations. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work as part of a specialised medical team, ensuring the wellbeing of pupils.
• Salary: £25,000 - £35, 000
• Term time plus an additional five weeks during School holidays, to include the final two weeks in August. School holiday working days to be agreed with Line Manager.
• Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday. Term time hours: 08.00 – 17.00. School holiday hours: 08:30 – 15:30. Occasional weekend or evening for School events, including Open Day, Admission Days & InSET Days.
• Start Date: 1st November
• Support staff are enrolled into a defined contribution scheme. Staff are... required to make a minimum contribution into the scheme, amounting to 5%. The School will make a graduated employer contribution, starting at 19.46%, based on length of service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties will include but are not limited to:
• Arrange and manage communication with parents regarding treatment planning for pupils, alongside the Director of Medical Provision and School Nurses.
• Update relevant staff on medical care plans and the general wellbeing of pupils, when necessary.
• Promptly alert staff and parents of any infectious disease and lice outbreaks.
• Ensure compliance with GDPR and medical data protection laws in maintaining confidential health records.
• Sign pupils in and out of the Medical Centre, ensuring accurate record-keeping of visit times, reasons for attendance, and any actions taken.
• Assist with the management of safeguarding records and ensure timely reporting of concerns.
• Assist in preparing for emergency situations, including maintaining first aid supplies and supporting medical emergency procedures.
• Complete first aid training and assist in administering basic first aid when necessary.
• Ensure records pertaining to dietary requirements are updated regularly and catering staff are made aware.
• Prepare and pack medical bags for Educational Visits, FIA Days, etc., ensuring that emergency medications and individual action plans are included and easily accessible.
• Assist with organising immunisation programmes.
• Aid the School Nurses in documenting health care plans for extra-curricular activities and trips.
• Notify parents and relevant staff if a pupil is not medically fit to attend lessons.
• Work with staff to ensure the timely completion of accident reports and follow School policy in the submission of RIDDOR reports.
