About the Role

The Health Economics and Policy Research Unit (HEPRU) at the Centre for Evaluation and Methods within the Wolfson Institute of Population Health is looking to recruit a Health Economist to contribute to economic evaluations of blood transfusion services. This role will focus on the NIHR Blood Transfusion Research Unit (BTRU) in Data-Driven Transfusion Practice and other transfusion-related health economic studies. The post-holder will conduct economic evaluations of blood collection, processing, and distribution systems and assess their cost-effectiveness. Collaboration with clinical, academic, and policy experts will be crucial in delivering high-quality research outputs that shape transfusion service practices and policies.

About You

We are looking for a postgraduate health economist with strong quantitative skills and experience in economic evaluation. Experience in blood transfusion services or related healthcare fields is desirable. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, the ability to work independently and in teams, and a commitment to high-quality research that impacts transfusion practices and healthcare economics.

About the School/Department/Institute/Project

The Wolfson Institute of Population Health harnesses expertise across a wide range of population based research and education activities and aims to be an internationally recognised centre of excellence in population health, primary care and preventive medicine.

The post-holder will work in the Centre for Evaluation and Methods (CEM), a thriving centre that incorporates collaborative units who work to deliver outstanding research based on their combined and complementary strengths.

£37,472 to £50,685 per annum
