About You
You will be educated to 'A' level or equivalent or be similarly qualified by experience. You will have experience of working in a library or have relevant transferable experience.
About the Post
We are seeking a Library Assistant in the Enquiries team within the Library Frontline Services. For information regarding the remit and responsibilities, please refer to the job pack (available on the university's website, accessed by the 'Apply' button) for this post.
You would also spend part of each working day on a service... point, providing drop-in help for students about library spaces, lending services and e-resources.
This post is based primarily at the Mile End Campus in London, but you will be expected to work at other sites, including Whitechapel and West Smithfield Libraries. The post is a full time (35hrs per week), permanent position. The starting salary will be Grade 3, in the range of £32,321 - £39,065 per annum pro rata, inclusive of London Allowance.
The libraries are open 7 days per week and the post holder will be required to work evenings and weekends. The working pattern is:
Monday 12-8pm, Tuesday 8-4pm, Wednesday 12-8pm, Thursday 10-6pm, and Sunday 10:45-6:15pm.
Breaks are unpaid and are one hour on weekdays.
