Role: Associate or Associate Director Civil Engineering
Location: London
Type: Full Time, Hybrid/Flexible, Permanent.
We're looking for an Associate or Associate Director of Civil Engineering in London!
This role is an ideal opportunity for a technically excellent Civil Engineer currently or previously occupying a Senior, Principal, Associate or AD role, with a background in highways, drainage, and infrastructure design.
Company: The company are a large, international development consultancy, with thousands of staff, and offices in key cities in every continent.
The Civil Engineering Team in London are currently 16 strong, having doubled in size in recent years and evolved into one of the most well-established and respected teams in the capital.
The projects undertaken by the team can be divided into approx. 80% domestic large-scale residential and mixed use developments up to 3,000 homes, city centre redevelopments, shopping centres, hospitals and waterfronts, and 20... international major developments, including at Neom in Saudi Arabia, in the United States, and in Pakistan. The international workstream is continuously increasing and a very exciting area of growth for the business.
Role Purpose & Responsibilities:
Through gaining an illustrious reputation for project delivery and continuous client satisfaction, there is no shortage of work for the team, who have become too busy and require additional technical, managerial and commercial assistance at the top.
The new requisition for an Associate, or Associate Director is desired to help oversee technical project delivery, and assist with commercial undertakings including:
• Managing a team of 8 staff, personally and professionally, in different geographical locations.
• Mentor staff to follow best practice in relation to drainage design, flood risk pavement design and highways.
• Bid work to win and maintain client relationships.
• Invoicing and managing staff costs as required.
• Review all technical submissions from planning applications to detailed design, including flood risk assessments, highways design, pavement design and detailed on site construction design elements.
• Support the structural team with any projects from a civils perspective.
• Help organise CPD's and internal training sessions with the team.
Requirements:
• Thorough technical understanding of the design of roads and pavement, drainage, earthworks and utilities.
• Commercial understanding of the consulting civil engineering environment.
• Leadership and delegation skills.
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
