About the role
Do you have experience of quality assurance work within higher education and an interest in academic policy development?
The university’s Quality Assurance and Enhancement Team oversees a range of processes designed to ensure the university meets internal and external requirements for quality assurance and academic standards, drawing on external guidance and expertise. In the role of Assistant Registrar (Academic Policy), you will lead on the development and implementation of academic policy and associated quality assurance procedure documentation. You will also lead on the development of data sets to support the university’s quality assurance processes.
What you would be doing
You will be responsible for leading the research and development of the university’s academic policies for taught programme provision and research degrees, which set out the university’s expectations, obligations and procedures for use by staff and students across the university.
You will be... responsible for the design and delivery of staff briefing sessions on the implementation of academic policies and manage the policy review cycle.
You will work with relevant teams across the university in the development of data sets to support quality assurance procedures and be responsible for the analysis of data and presentation of recommendations to senior committees. You will develop systems to enhance data sharing within Registry and to colleagues in departments and faculties.
You will be expected to keep abreast of changes to higher education policy both within and outside the university and be able to advise colleagues with complex enquiries.
What we are looking for
• An understanding of quality assurance and enhancement processes and procedures in a higher education setting.
• Experience of leading the development and implementation of academic policy and associated quality assurance procedure documentation.
• Experience of ensuring that internal quality assurance and regulatory frameworks meet the expectations of external regulatory bodies.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to liaise will colleagues at all levels of the College.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to communicate complex information clearly, concisely and persuasively; highly developed negotiating and influencing skills.

Further information
Registry Staff are currently working from our South Kensington Campus, but will be relocating to a new Professional Services Hub in White City in spring 2025.
