Digital Purchasing Manager at Mace

Responsible defining and operating the purchasing and processing of IT equipment/hardware/software, owns supplier relationships, tracking, monitoring and maintaining contracts and renewals budget spend, supports & facilitates the end-to-end finance lifecycle... from raising purchase orders through to receipt of approved financial payment.

You’ll be responsible for:
• Managing IT purchasing process, collaborates with function heads and group procurement team to drive optimal outcomes.
• Partnering with multiple internal and external stakeholders, working in collaboration to implement IT digital strategy.
• Managing supplier relationships on purchasing and contract related matters, engages in a timely manner to ensure teams/function are driving best value.
• Managing supplier relationships & monitors escalations at a senior level to resolve conflicts, improves working process and efficiencies.
• Owning schedule to map out the approach and plan to proactively engage with suppliers for support on renewals, obtaining quotes, and working with service owners to drive best value.
• Ensuring engagement and collaboration with relevant teams (as outlined in the contract tracker) for support/approval including (but not limited to) group procurement and legal.
• Partnering with purchase ledger and suppliers to resolve invoice discrepancies and ensure settlement of payments due.
• Partnering and contracting management database and ensures accurate interpretation & data reporting.
• Identifying and managing opportunities for continuous improvements/improving working processes across areas of responsibility.
• Supporting function/business area, utilises domain expertise providing sound technical/functional capabilities, in areas of responsibility.
• Working collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.

You’ll need to have:
• A self-starter who is happy to work autonomously and take ownership of their deadlines.
• Ability to collaborate with teams and customers and ensure close working relationship.
• Ability to foster and own relationships with third parties ensuring a constructive attitude to discussions and negotiations.
• Develops & manages working relationships with internal & external stakeholders.
• Strong background in managing electronic purchasing systems.
• Knowledge of business software management.
• Ability to establish and run procurement processes.
• Sound technical/functional understanding & knowledge of digital purchasing/procurement.
• Ability to work with outsource partners to establish processes and enable the team to operate them.
• Experience in undertaking supplier assessments via research & development.
• Diligent in record keeping and ensuring documentation and reference data is up to date and maintained.

You’ll also have:
• An understanding of accounts/accounting principles.
• Experience of contract negotiation for new or existing contracts.
• Knowledge of construction industry.
• Use of reporting and analytics relating to procurement be drive costs, trends & usage, making recommendations that meet the business need.
