Senior Technical Accountant - Insurance - London Market Experience Essential.
Summary of the role:
Reporting to the Head of Accounting, We're looking for an accountant with strong insurance and accounting experience. Your role is to manage the core financial accounting for a Tier 1 insurance account, delivering financial control, reporting and giving support to the business on time.
As part of your duties, you will be responsible for:
Possess a good level of knowledge and accountability for reconciling and managing automated insurance transactions within the ledger.
Take ownership of any manual processing related to incoming insurance transactions.
Responsible for technical reconciliations between service companies, acting as the primary contact for intercompany partners.
Maintain an intermediate understanding and oversight of reconciliations and management of automated reserving transactions (such as Incurred But Not Reported - IBNR) in the ledger.
Serve as the primary contact... for auditors regarding incoming insurance and reserving matters.
Analyse and generate commentary on the results of incoming insurance activities.
Responsible for being the main contact for downstream reporting (including Lloyd’s Regulatory and Head Office) as well as external inquiries pertaining to incoming insurance and reserving transactions.
Hold secondary responsibility for outgoing reinsurance and intercompany transactions.
Assisting with maintenance and updating of financial systems, specifically Aptitude.
Qualifications and experience we consider to be essential for the role:
Strong academic background including an internationally recognised professional accounting qualification (minimum 7 years post qualification experience).
Strong experience working within an insurance or reinsurance business
Good communication skills
Strong controls and reconciliations experience
Experience and knowledge of Oracle Financials.
