Job Descrption
Hours: Full time, 35 hours per week (office based – 8.00am - 4.00pm)
Salary: £55,000 - £60,000 per annum according to qualifications and experience
Responsible to: Senior Business Partner
This role is part of the Finance function within CGMA and reports into the Senior Finance Business Partner. The role will primarily support department heads adding value through analysis and insight to inform decision making. The role will also support the Financial Controller and Head of Finance with project implementation.
A key focus of your role will be in providing high quality, prompt and accurate management accounts to agreed deadlines including key financial analysis. You will work on ad hoc projects at the request of the Senior Finance Business Partner and the wider Finance team to address the needs of the wider business. There will be an expectation that you identify risk and escalate where appropriate and that you think commercially as part of your decision-making process.
- Prepare... accurate monthly management accounts (including P&L, Balance Sheet and cashflow for the organisation including a P&L by area.
- Complete monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations
- Prepare relevant accruals and prepayments including relevant journals
- Perform budgeting, forecasting, and risk analysis duties as allocated.
- Liaise with the finance team to ensure financial transparency.
- Conduct financial analysis as required and present findings
- Comply with all financial regulations and standards.
- Support in the preparation of the management accounts and financial data for reporting to Board and Committees.
- Support the development of the annual budget and periodic forecasts for each department and the Authority as a whole.
- Assist the year end audit and production of the Annual Reports and Accounts.
- Manage the reconciliation of the redevelopment project and grant reporting requirements
- Maintain the fixed asset register and calculate monthly depreciation charges
- Providing support on ad hoc requirements as part of the overall finance function

Comfortable taking the initiative and thinking creatively to resolve problems and knowing when to refer the problem to more senior members of the team.
A successful Management Accountant should have:
- Professional Accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, AAT or equivalent)– 2 years post qualified experience.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite – Intermediate / advanced excel skills
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
- Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in using Microsoft Dynamics Business Central is desirable but not essential.
- Must have experience in the production of management accounts
- Experience in property management is desirable but not essential
