Job Descrption
This is a full-time on-site role for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer at Tarmac Soil & Material Testing Laboratory LLC. He/She will be responsible for managing soil investigation site operations, reporting, site and client coordination. He/She will also be responsible for the drilling team management and scheduling and should have strong computer literacy skills for managing reporting and preferably well versed with relevant softwares such as gINT, LIMS, GeoStudio, Geo5, Plaxis etc.
Experience:
Extensive Field Experience:
• 8-10+ years of hands-on experience in geotechnical engineering, involving site investigations, soil and rock testing, and monitoring of geotechnical activities.
• Experience managing and supervising site investigations, including borehole drilling, soil sampling, in-situ testing (e.g., Standard Penetration Test, Cone Penetration Test), and groundwater monitoring.
Project Management:
• Proven track record in managing and delivering complex... geotechnical engineering projects on time and within budget.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, technicians, and contractors, in both design and construction phases of projects.
• Expertise in preparing project plans, schedules, and budgets, as well as in resource allocation and risk management.
Technical Design and Analysis:
• Strong background in designing foundations (shallow and deep), retaining structures, embankments, and slopes.
• Experience with geotechnical software for modeling and analysis, such as PLAXIS, GeoStudio, SLOPE/W, and other relevant tools.
• Competence in interpreting geotechnical data, conducting stability analyses, and making design recommendations.
Regulatory and Compliance Experience:
• Familiarity with local authority requiement such as DM, DDA, Trakhees, Nakheel, DMCC etc. and regulations in accordance with EIAC requirements.
• Experience in preparing regulatory submissions and obtaining necessary permits for construction activities.
Client Correspondence:
• Experience working closely with clients, contractors, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.
• Strong presentation skills, with experience in presenting technical findings and design solutions to non-technical audiences.
Construction Support:
• Experience providing geotechnical support during construction, including quality control, site inspections, and troubleshooting geotechnical issues on-site.
• Ability to review and approve construction documentation, including technical drawings, specifications, and reports.
Mentorship and Leadership:
• Experience mentoring junior engineers and technical staff, providing guidance, training, and support in their professional development.
• Proven leadership skills, including the ability to inspire and lead teams in challenging environments.
Educational Background :
• Bachelor's Degree: A degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a closely related field is required.
Technical Proficiency:
• In-depth knowledge of geotechnical engineering principles, including soil mechanics, rock mechanics, foundation engineering, and slope stability.
• Proficiency in using geotechnical software tools for analysis, modeling, and design.
• Familiarity with construction techniques and materials related to geotechnical engineering.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write detailed technical reports and communicate complex information clearly to clients and stakeholders.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and build strong relationships with clients, contractors, and regulators.
Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex geotechnical data and make informed decisions.
• Problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and mitigate risks in geotechnical designs and construction processes.

Pay: From AED7,000.00 per month
