Jr. Autocad Draftsman / Design Engineer at UNION GROUP OF COMPANIES

Job Descrption
● Solving engineering design and analysis problems in support of the Sales Manager.
● Projects planning and Scheduling
● Assist in implementing mechanical engineering practices and related standards.
● Check/review completed in-house drawings, vendor drawings and drawings done by the design contractor in accordance to the project specifications, standards and quality.
● Prepare and maintain method statements for all activities
● Perform inspections and attend tests to ensure compliance with approved drawings, workmanship standards, and contract specifications.
● Design work using CAD, liaison with engineers and contractors to ensure quality standards and design criteria are met.
● Writes detailed reports related to mechanical engineering of projects and confers with Managers as requested.
● Organize technical discussions with subcontractors and vendors in order to specify designs or systems... necessary for a contracting project.
● Coordinate regulatory and classification body reviews and approvals.
● Carry out calculations to support design calculations
● Work with Sales Manager to respond to enquiries from project consultants and clients
● Liaise with sub contract design consultants to finalise any queries and ensure job completion as required.
● To Prepare the Prequalification documentations for projects
● Support and assist fabrication staff, diving team and sales team with technical queries and coordinate resolutions as required.
● Review and approve engineering drawings and calculations in compliance with classification and regulatory rules, and ensure adequate standards of safety are incorporated.
● Contribute to a positive relationship with the client, subcontractors, vendors and the operating regions of the Company to ensure a high degree of cooperation to achieve the best possible results.
COMPETENCIES & QUALIFICATION REQUIRED
● Initiative and work with minimum of supervision
● Good written and spoken English
● Experience in marine contracting industry is an advantage.
● Possesses a clear understanding of civil and mechanical drawings, quantity take-offs, and the usage of plotters and printers.
● Expert in the use of AutoCAD for preparing designs and drawings.
● Bachelor’s degree in civil/mechanical Marine engineering with minimum 5 to 8 years.
