Role Summary:The Director of General Education holds a pivotal leadership role within the university, responsible for the comprehensive management and strategic direction of the General Education Department. This includes administrative, planning, and operational duties, with an emphasis on enhancing the academic experience and success of students transitioning from secondary education to higher education.Responsibilities:The Director of General Education has the administrative, planning, and operational responsibility for the General Education Department.The Director shall also assume teaching responsibilities as needed.The incumbent provides campus-wide leadership for outreach education, including non-credit and certificate professional development courses, business services and conferences, and personal enrichment activities.The Director oversees programs, activities, Instructors affairs, and administration and support services.Develops and implements strategies to attract and... retain students and Instructors.Ensures the curriculum remains current and complies with accreditation standards.Plays a crucial role in shaping the academic foundation and success of students as they transition from secondary education to higher education within the university.Makes recommendations to the Provost / Head of Academic Affairs on improving the department programs. The Director must hold a Masters in Adult Education, English Language or a related field required.Five years of successful experience in higher education program administration, teaching and business outreach, including marketing, development and management in university continuing education.Demonstrated expertise in teaching English as a second or foreign language.Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain a professional, entrepreneurial business environment within a campus community.Proven experience in collaborating with outside partners throughout the community and in areas of education and human development.Have at least 3 years' experience in developing and directing academic programs in a university or college.Proficiency in Arabic Language is preferred
