Job Descrption
The Managing Director will be responsible for developing and executing strategic plans to drive cost-effective, efficient maritime operations in alignment with company goals. Key duties include ensuring regulatory compliance, overseeing fleet maintenance, and driving operational efficiency through data analysis and innovation. The role also involves managing crew recruitment and training, enforcing safety protocols, and overseeing budgets with... a focus on P&L management. Additionally, the MD will lead vendor negotiations, crisis management, and stakeholder communication while maintaining accurate documentation.
Requirements:
Candidates must possess extensive maritime experience, deep knowledge of regulations, strong leadership and financial acumen, and the ability to adapt to industry trends and handle high-pressure situations.
Experience:
● 10-15 years of extensive experience in maritime operations, with roles such as Ship Captain, Chief Engineer, or Marine Superintendent.
● Proven management experience in a senior leadership position within the shipping or maritime industry.
Technical Skills:
● Deep knowledge of maritime regulations, fleet management, and operational optimization.
● Proficiency in maritime software for fleet management and operational planning.
Leadership & Management:
● Strong leadership capabilities with proven experience in team building, project management, and decision-making.
● Financial acumen, including budgeting, financial forecasting, and P&L oversight.
Communication & Negotiation Skills:
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills for engaging with internal and external stakeholders.
● Strong negotiation skills for managing vendor and supplier contracts.
Analytical & Problem-Solving Abilities:
● Expertise in analyzing operational data to drive efficiency improvements.
● Ability to handle crisis situations with a calm, solution-oriented approach.
Adaptability & Continuous Learning:
● Willingness to stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and technological advancements.
Physical & Mental Resilience:
● Capability to perform in high-pressure environments and manage critical decisions under stress.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: AED25,000.00 - AED30,000.00 per month
