Job Summary:
As a Senior Accountant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the financial integrity and accuracy of our dealership's accounting operations. Leveraging your automotive dealership experience, you will be responsible for overseeing various financial functions and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive business success.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting:
· Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
· Bank, cash & petty cash management and Daily reporting
· Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
· Provide insights and recommendations to management based on financial analysis.
General Ledger Management:
· Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
· Review and approve journal entries, adjustments, and accruals.
· Monitor compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
· Assist in... the development of annual budgets and forecasts.
· Track actual performance against budgeted targets and provide variance analysis.
· Work with department heads to ensure budget adherence and optimize financial performance.
Tax Compliance:
· Collaborate with external tax advisors to ensure timely and accurate filing of tax returns.
· Stay updated on relevant tax laws and regulations affecting the automotive industry.
· Support tax audits and inquiries as needed.
Inventory Control:
· Oversee inventory accounting processes, including valuation and reconciliation.
· Perform regular inventory audits to minimize discrepancies and ensure accuracy.
· Implement controls to safeguard inventory assets and prevent shrinkage.
Financial Systems and Process Improvement:
· Evaluate existing accounting systems and processes, identifying opportunities for enhancement.
· Lead or participate in projects to streamline workflows, improve efficiency, and strengthen internal controls.
· Train and mentor junior accounting staff on best practices and procedures.
Qualifications:
• Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CA (Inter), CPA or CMA designation preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of progressive accounting experience, with a focus on automotive dealership operations.
• Strong understanding of IFRS and financial reporting requirements.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Oracle, Net Suite) and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
• Proven track record of driving process improvements and delivering results.
• Prior experience in a supervisory or leadership role is a plus
