Job Overview:
A leading general trading company is seeking an experienced General Accountant to manage the full accounting cycle, ensuring accurate financial reporting in compliance with accounting standards and local regulations. The role involves finalizing financial statements, managing cash functions, preparing reports for senior management, and maintaining confidentiality.
Only immediate joiners will be considered.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage the full accounting cycle, ensuring proper bookkeeping and reporting in accordance with accounting standards and FTA regulations.
• Finalize the financial statements and ensure timely completion.
• Liaise with external auditors and stay updated on UAE tax laws and regulations.
• Prepare management reports as needed and suggest process improvements to senior management.
• Perform daily fund balance reconciliations and manage petty cash funds.
•... Analyze financial results and explain variances to stakeholders, including shareholders, banks, auditors, and government authorities.
• Handle treasury functions, including issuing and receiving cash payments, and process payment requests.
• Prepare intercompany journal entries.
• Occasionally visit offsite locations to collect cash as required.
• Maintain a high level of confidentiality and demonstrate strong work standards.
Candidate Profile:
• Education: A Bachelor of Science in Accounting is mandatory. CPA certification is a plus.
• Experience: 5+ years in similar roles with a strong track record of managing responsibilities.
• Skills:
• Excellent analytical and presentation skills for clear financial communication to stakeholders.
• Strong research, numerical, and financial reporting skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication in English.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to handle competing priorities.
• Experience with major ERPs like Navision, Microsoft Dynamics, or Sage is preferred.
• Proficient in Excel, with VB programming or Macros experience as a desirable but not mandatory skill
