FURNITURE SPRAY PAINTER
The Furniture Spray Painter is responsible for preparing, priming, and painting wooden, metal, or other furniture surfaces to achieve a high-quality finish. This role involves working with various types of paints, lacquers, stains, and varnishes, ensuring precise application for a smooth and even coat. The ideal candidate will have an eye for detail, strong knowledge of paint systems, and the ability to work with different materials and furniture styles.
Key Responsibilities:
Surface Preparation: Sand, clean, and prepare furniture surfaces before applying paint, ensuring they are free of dirt, grease, and defects.
Painting and Finishing: Apply paint, varnish, stain, lacquer, or other finishes to furniture surfaces using spray guns or other appropriate tools, ensuring a smooth, even coat.
Quality Control: Inspect completed work to ensure it meets company quality standards, correcting any imperfections such as bubbles, drips, or uneven surfaces.
Mixing and... Matching: Mix and match paints, stains, and finishes to meet customer specifications or design requirements.
Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and clean all painting equipment, such as spray guns, hoses, and nozzles, ensuring they are in good working order.
Safety Compliance: Follow all safety procedures, including wearing protective gear and ensuring proper ventilation in the workspace.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of materials used, time spent on projects, and other relevant production details.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as carpentry and assembly, to ensure furniture meets overall project specifications.
Skills and Qualifications:
Experience: Previous experience as a furniture spray painter or in a similar role within the furniture manufacturing industry.
Technical Knowledge: Proficient in handling various types of spray equipment and materials, including lacquers, enamels, stains, and varnishes.
Attention to Detail: Ability to detect and correct imperfections in surfaces and finishes.
Physical Stamina: Able to stand for long periods, lift materials, and work in a physically demanding environment.
Time Management: Ability to meet deadlines and work efficiently without compromising quality.
Communication: Good interpersonal skills to collaborate with colleagues and supervisors.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification or training in spray painting techniques or finishing processes.
Familiarity with color theory and matching.
Knowledge of environmentally friendly finishes and practices.
Working Conditions:
The role may involve exposure to fumes, dust, and other airborne particles, requiring the use of protective equipment.
