Microsoft’s Azure Data engineering team is leading the transformation of analytics in the world of data with products like databases, data integration, big data analytics, messaging & real-time analytics, and business intelligence. Within Azure Data, the big data analytics team provides a range of products that enable data engineers and data scientists to extract intelligence from all data – structured, semi-structured, and unstructured. We build the Data Engineering, Data Science, and Data Integration pillars of Microsoft Fabric.
The Data Science & Engineering UI Team is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to take on building out new tools for AI & Data Science based workflows. We work closely with the Design and Service engineering teams to build out the interaction layer for these new workflows.

Responsibilities
• Own and drive new feature work by collaborating with Product Managers, Designers, and other engineering teams.
• Drive security and accessibility reviews for respective feature work.
• Build and maintain tests and testing infrastructure for new and existing functionality.
• Collaborate with other UI Engineering teams on shared resources and frameworks.
• Work with other team members to write engineering specs & explore UX design possibilities.
• Research new technologies and build prototypes to try new ideas.
• Participate in on-call rotations to manage incidents with the live site.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent experience.
Other Requirements
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:
- This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
OR equivalent experience.
- Experience with Typescript, React, and associated build tools.
- Experience with two or more UX frameworks in any language or platform.
- Experience engineering web-based user interfaces for Accessibility.
- Experience with rapid prototyping.
