The Azure Storage team delivers Virtual Disks, Container Storage, Object Storage, SAN/NAS-in-the-cloud, and more. Azure Disk is a fundamental building block for customers to migrate and transform their solutions on Azure as well as the foundation for service offerings across Microsoft. We are seeking a Senior Product Manager to join our team in Redmond. In this capacity, you will be responsible for innovating new capabilities and enhancing existing ones to improve the customer experience of Azure Disks Storage. The results of your work will directly influence new business opportunities for Azure. Your role will encompass the entire product development process, from ideation to specification, user experience design, price-performance modeling, go-to-market planning, and growth initiatives. Each of these elements will significantly impact our business. This position provides the opportunity to work across a broad spectrum of technical areas, collaborate with various teams within Azure, and make valuable contributions to the Cloud + Artificial Intelligence (AI) division. Responsibilities

  • Research customer / partner scenarios and industry trends, listen and understand customer requirements, and translate them into viable product roadmaps, strategy, and motions.
  • Analyze and track storage performance characteristics, usage patterns, and requirements.
  • Innovate new capabilities and enhance existing processes to remove frictions in the customer experience.
  • Drive end to end product development including new ideas, product specification, user experience, price-performance model, go to market plan and growth initiatives.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, related disciplines AND 5+ years of related work experience in product management or software engineering
    • OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

 

Additional / Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Proficient in analytical problem-solving, with proven ability to work with virtual teams through ambiguity.
  • Prior experience in cloud platform and/or related technologies.
  • Dependable, self-motivated, self-directed, and able to lead and motivate a high-energy team.
  • Technical background and solid foundation in software engineering principles and architecture design.
  • Knowledge of on-premises storage systems or storage performance is a plus.
  • Effective communication, collaboration, and coordination skills.

Product Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.
