Our job at Microsoft Security is to safeguard all the users, organizations, and systems that rely on Microsoft Identity systems from unauthorized access and fraud. We make it easy for our customers to choose the best option. Authentication method provisioning team enables this by developing core authentication methods features that change the way millions of users sign in.

 

Microsoft Entra ID Protection helps organizations detect, investigate, and remediate identity-based risks. These identity-based risks can be further fed into tools like Conditional Access to make access decisions or fed back to a security information and event management (SIEM) tool for further investigation and correlation. Our team is looking to hire a Software Engineer II.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with stakeholders (Product managers, peer engineers), leveraging and instrumenting data/telemetry to make decisions.
  • Embody a collaboration first attitude with the ability to work with peer and partner teams in an agile environment.
  • Design & implement well-defined OData APIs and libraries.
  • Implement and maintain automated monitoring infrastructure leveraging and implementing the telemetry to observe the usage and reliability.
  • Writing and maintaining integration and Unit test for the features.
  • Actively pursue new knowledge, adapt to new trends, eager to learn and be open minded.
  • Perform live site on-call duties in rotational cadence, work together with the team to ensure service quality, availability and reliability.
  • Efficient communication and collaboration skills.
  • Have a deep desire to work collaboratively, solve problems with groups, find win/win solutions and celebrate successes.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C#, Java, JavaScript, Scala or Python

    • OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements:

 

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:  

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications: 

 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

    • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

    • OR equivalent experience.

  • 2+ years working experience developing Typescript, Knockout JS
Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,300 - $182,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $120,900 - $198,600 per year. Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.
