Microsoft Cloud Operations + Innovation (CO+I) is the engine that powers Microsoft's cloud services and our team is focused on delivering high quality infrastructure to support cloud operations. 

 

As Microsoft’s Cloud business continues to mature, the acquisition and development of our owned, designed and constructed Data Center facilities will scale to meet the demands of our customers. The Real Estate Acquistion Data Insights Manager, Cloud Operations + Innovation will be developing and executing strategies to deliver owned and developed sites alongside our leasing team, to scale our business into the future. 

 

The Infrastructure Planning & Acquisition (IPA) team is responsible for the acquisition and planning of Data Center Infrastructure needed to build out Microsoft’s cloud infrastructure. The Land Acquisition Team is responsible for the delivery and pre-positioning of Data Center real estate needed to build out Microsoft’s cloud infrastructure.  

  

As the Real Estate Acquistion Data Insights Manager, Cloud Operations + Innovation your primary objective will be to translate data-driven insights into actionable programs that optimize our land acquisition strategy. By collaborating closely with Land Acquisition Managers, you'll equip the team with the information necessary to accelerate processes and minimize risk. The focus of this program is responsibility for constant accurate data in our dashboards, deriving actionable insights based on this data, and executing programs to optimize land acquisition strategies.  

 

In essence, you'll be at the forefront of driving our acquisition process forward by leveraging deep data insights and implementing proactive strategies to capitalize on emerging opportunities in the real estate market.

Responsibilities

  • Data Analysis and Insights Generation: Conduct in-depth analysis of real estate market data, including market reports, industry publications, and government data, across regions. Use analytical tools and techniques to derive actionable insights that inform strategic land acquisition decisions. 
  • Program Development and Execution: Develop and execute programs based on data-driven insights to optimize land acquisition strategies. This includes designing and implementing initiatives aimed at accelerating acquisition processes and mitigating risks identified through data analysis. 
  • Dashboard Management: Lead efforts to maintain accurate and up-to-date data dashboards used for decision-making purposes. Ensure that data presented in dashboards is reliable, relevant, and effectively communicates key insights to stakeholders. 
  • Collaboration and Stakeholder Management: Collaborate closely with Land Acquisition Managers and other stakeholders to implement strategies derived from data insights. Foster effective communication and collaboration across teams to ensure alignment and successful execution of acquisition programs. 
  • Continuous Improvement: Champion a culture of continuous improvement by leveraging data insights to identify opportunities for process optimization and program enhancement. Proactively seek out ways to improve efficiency and effectiveness in land acquisition operations. 
  • Cross-functional Coordination: Serve as a liaison between data analytics teams and land acquisition teams, facilitating seamless communication and collaboration. Ensure that data insights are effectively integrated into all aspects of the land acquisition process.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Real Estate, Project Management, or related field AND 3+ years relevant experience

    • OR 5+ years equivalent experience.

  • Experience in deriving actionable insights from data analysis to inform strategic land acquisition programs. 
  • Experience leading initiatives to continuously refine and enhance data dashboards to ensure accurate and up-to-date information for decision-making. 
  • Experience collaborating closely with Land Acquisition Managers to implement strategies derived from data insights, accelerating processes and mitigating risks. 

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Real Estate, Project Management, or related field AND 5+ years Portfolio Management, Real Estate, or Office Management experience

    • OR 7+ years equivalent experience.

  • Spearhead the development and execution of programs based on data-driven insights to optimize land acquisition strategies. 
  • Drive the integration of data-driven decision-making into all aspects of the land acquisition process to maximize efficiency and effectiveness. 
  • Champion a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, leveraging data insights to identify opportunities for process optimization and program enhancement. 

Real Estate Portfolio Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $91,800 - $178,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $117,900 - $195,000 per year.
