Job description:
We have an opportunity for an experienced Head of Programmes to join the Andretti Cadillac Team at the new Silverstone Facility. In this role you will lead and manage the Programme Management Team to control projects from concept to track ensuring delivery to timely deadlines, cost and quality. Principal Accountabilities:
Lead and manage the Programme Management Team to deliver Car Build and other major projects from concept to track ensuring delivery to timely deadlines, cost and quality
Develop the Programme Management Team to achieve the department’s objectives, providing clear direction and support, ensuring the team is motivated and engaged to maximise performance
Overall responsibility for Programme Management activities across the business
Work closely with key stakeholders including the Technical Director to assist the decision making of projects, their scope and targets
Create and implement best practice programme management strategy and processes to aid and improve project performance
Work with key business stakeholders, such as the Technical Director, on identifying the scope and targets of projects
Create and manage programme plans with functional milestones and deliverables whilst aware of constraints, to ensure delivery to programme timing and budget with maximum effectiveness
Determine if adequate resource is available to deliver programmes including Design and Production capacity
Work closely with Finance Business Partners to deliver the most efficient and cost accurate projects to the Financial Regulations
Ensure progress of projects is monitored, risks identified and appropriate mitigation against non-delivery is invoked
Chair regular and effective cross-departmental project reviews to drive plan and control successful project delivery
Escalate and manage programme risks and issues when required
Communicate with senior management on programme status, risks and issues in an appropriate and timely manner
Collaboratively work with the Technical Director to determine the annual Car Build budget and subsequent sub project budgets
Continuously monitor the cost of projects relative to target and track roll up to the overall Car Build budget
Ensure you and the Programme Management Team are up to date with the latest Financial Regulations
Help identify project improvement and efficiency opportunities within the organisation
Develop a thorough working knowledge of the company’s ERP system and be a champion for its ongoing development
Implement, manage and communicate key performance indicators (KPIs) showing the health of projects
Build strong collaborative working relationships throughout the organisation
Produce written reports and make presentations as required
Requirements
Extensive experience of Programme Management in motorsport or similar fast paced industry
Substantial and proven motorsports experience is an advantage
Excellent knowledge of motorsport production methods
Track record of planning, budgeting and successfully executing multiple complex projects
Educated to degree level in a relevant engineering or commercial discipline
Professional Project Management qualification e.g. PRINCE2
Strong leadership skills with solid experience of management and team development
Ability to operate under pressure to tight deadlines with minimal errors
Outstanding communicative and collaborative skills to guarantee cross-departmental integration
Strong interpersonal skills and a team player
Excellent organisation skills
Ability to challenge and influence at all levels
Strong negotiation and decision-making skills
Ability to analyse problems and recommend a course of action
Experience of MS applications including MS Project, Outlook, Excel, and Teams
Previous ERP experience is an advantage
Flexible attitude with the ability to work within a team in a high pressure rapidly changing environment
