Director of Engineering Description
Our client in the manufacturing industry is looking for a Director of R&D Engineering to add to their team in Irvine, California. Reporting to the CEO, your primary responsibility will be to lead a high-performing, multi-disciplinary engineering team of six to develop and implement cutting-edge medical device solutions. As a member of the leadership team, you will spend most of your time providing thought leadership, guidance, and direction to the department while ensuring that client initiatives are being met without issue. Director of Engineering Responsibilities
• Oversee the design control process
• Develop and manage technology roadmaps
• Apply engineering principles to achieve company objectives
• Lead Engineering staff (6) in high-performance production design
• Ensure timely completion of design projects
• Prioritize projects aligning with CEO objectives
• Ensure cost-effective product design
• Provide technical coaching and oversee patent management
• Implement safety, ergonomics, and design principles
• Review project requirements
• Assist in sales efforts as a technical resource
Director of Engineering Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required
• 10+ years of design engineering experience required
• 5+ years of medical device engineering experience required
• New product development and R&D within the medical device industry required
• Experience managing and leading an engineering team required
