The Role:
This is a full-time hourly position. Urban Sky manufactures stratospheric balloons and unique high altitude payload systems almost entirely at our facility in Denver, CO. The company is in a period of rapid growth, and over the next year we plan to substantially increase the rate at which we manufacture our balloon systems. We are looking for an Engineering Technician to help build, test, and implement several automation systems and balloon manufacturing stations. This person would work with the manufacturing engineering team to prove our new systems and help validate state of the art processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble large manufacturing equipment for building high altitude balloons.
- Test and validate new manufacturing processes through iterative design development with the engineering team.
- Test and validate new electronics hardware assembly and testing procedures.
- Create work instructions to roll-out new processes to the manufacturing line.
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Proficient fabricator capable of general assembly and experience in at least one trade such as machining, welding, and general use of shop power tools
- Must be US Citizen
- Must be located in Denver, CO
- Associate degree in a technical field or an engineering degree
- A jack-of-all trades type will do well in this role
- Start-up experience
- Experience manufacturing soft goods
- Familiarity with Six Sigma techniques and tools
- Base pay $28 - $30 / hour
- We are required to post this salary range per Colorado law. Your salary will be determined based on your abilities and experience.
