LC State invites applications for the position of Instructor of Engineering Technology.
Salary and rank based on experience and qualifications: $47,325 - $57,390
Required Qualifications:
Eight (8) years of current experience in a related field; or Associate's degree from a regionally accredited college or university in a related field with five (5) years of current field experience in a related field; or Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university in a related field with three (3) years of current field experience in a related field.
Knowledge of basic surveying skills and responsible for teaching students the essential concepts and skills required for a career in the field of surveying.
Experience using instrumentation such as automatic levels, total stations, global positioning systems, and field data controllers.
Experience with Autodesk® AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and/or Carlson Survey software.
Experience with Unmanned Aerial Systems for recreational and land surveying purposes.
Preferred Qualifications:
Teaching experience in a technical college, accredited trade school, or as an industry trainer.
Bachelor's Degree in a related field from a regionally accredited college or university.
Two years' supervisory or field experience as a Licensed Surveyor for the State of Idaho or five (5) years' experience as a Licensed Surveyor in Training in the State of Idaho.
Preference may be given for experience with geospatial technologies including geographic information systems and GIS software.
Responsibilities:
Instruct and supervise students in the Engineering Technology program. Develop, plan, implement, and revise programs and courses, curriculum, and lesson plans. Evaluate student progress in attaining goals and objectives. Maintain lab equipment and program/personal certification requirements; attend faculty and educational meetings. Assist in recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts as well as ensuring safety and security for the program. Work with the program's advisory committee, industry representatives, and employers to facilitate job and internship opportunities. Operate and maintain program budget, and contribute to college-wide goals and activities by serving on committees and other institutional activities. Applicants are required to complete CTE teacher training courses for Idaho Teaching Certification. Additional duties include direct and indirect activities to support the recruitment and retention of students.
