SUU's Community & Workforce Development (CWD) is a dynamic and entrepreneurial department within the Office or Regional Services. CWD offers a wide variety of industry-informed, skills-based courses and certificate programs, professional conferences and workshops, and non-credit-to-credit pathways for adult and working learners. These offerings are focused on upskilling the workforce, growing businesses and economic development opportunities, and elevating careers. Additionally, the department manages the SUU Leadership Institute and delivers leadership training to local, state and national audiences.
The Workforce Education Pathways Navigator plays a key role in supporting adult and working learners in their efforts to achieve SUU degree and career success. This includes providing information about career and degree opportunities and promoting career-related programs and events such as career and education planning, workshops, and introduction to job opportunities. This position also helps learners assess and articulate their strengths, skills, and interests and makes recommendations for SUU education and employment opportunities that align with long-term education goals. Additionally, the navigator analyzes internship, apprenticeship, and job market trends and contributes to alumni and employer networks to promote the university's overall career pathway and workforce development initiatives. Through one-on-one advising and community outreach efforts, the navigator helps adult learners understand the steps they need to take to achieve their career and ongoing education aspirations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Adult Learner Recruitment and Community Outreach. Engages in SUU marketing, advertising, and outreach efforts to attract adult learners to SUU workforce education and degree programs.
Implements strategies and tactics to support workforce education recruitment efforts including outreach/recruitment events and presentations.
Develops and maintains key partnerships with various businesses and organizations to support community outreach efforts.
Travels to various communities to give presentations and support pathways recruitment.
Adult Learner Support, Advising and Transition.
Advises adult learners in helping them achieve their education milestones.
Hosts workshops to include: strengths finding, resume building, skills articulation strategies, career planning, etc.
Facilitates learner transition to university degrees and career opportunities by providing information about skills and academic requirements.
Connects students to key support resources and facilitates referrals.
Implements strategies to promote success in learner milestone achievements.
Connection to Career Opportunities. Confers with community agencies, associations, and employers to connect adult learners with job opportunities.
Actively engages in market research to understand and advise learners and colleagues about industry sector skills requirements.
Coordinates job fair connections.
Additional Duties

Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and/or two years of relevant work experience
Education or experience in education, business, marketing, or public relations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deadlines.
Presentation skills.
Strong interpersonal and professional communication skills.
Strong organizational skills to keep track of various program meetings, events, stakeholders, and learner pathway plans.
