Job title: Accounting Coordinator
Pay: Starting at $22 to $26 an hour, depending on experience
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8am to 5pm
Location: Hillsboro, Oregon
The Accounting Coordinator provides general accounting, clerical and technical assistance for all companies under The Parr Company umbrella. This position entails a variety of duties to help with the day-to-day operations within the Accounting Department, and will assist in the maintenance of accounting records, including the monitoring, investigation, research, and resolution of discrepancies. The ideal candidate will be an organized team player capable of actively managing and prioritizing multiple tasks, self-motivated, a quick learner and reliable. With those skills and duties, the financial side of Parr can be successful, making this role vital in fulfilling our mission of Legendary Service Through Teamwork.
The Accounting Coordinator reports directly to the Financial Accounting Manager and works closely with Staff Accountants, Accounts Payables, other departments, company personnel and outside vendors.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum two years of accounting experience in a high-volume environment
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to speak, write, and read English required
- Ability to analyze, interpret and question data for accuracy
- Knowledge of and experience in accounting principles, practices, and protocols
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Maintain confidentiality and accuracy of all information related to company finances and records
- Strong time management, organizational and analytical skills
- High attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize work and manage time effectively
- Ability to concentrate and attend to detail amidst a busy office environment
- Willingness to share department responsibilities to meet deadlines; must be a strong team player
- Must be able to operate personal computer, Ten-Key, scanner, and other equipment necessary for this position
Duties and Responsibilities
Teamwork
- Participate in the documentation of charitable contributions
- Participate in the tracking of capital projects and job costs in Excel workbooks
- Participate in month-end and year-end close activities
- Assist with the issuance and reporting of 1099s and ensure information accuracy
- Participate in the development of solutions and requirements for new applications and enhancements to the accounting processes
Duties
- Coordinate company p-card program including user assistance and training
- Monitor and review Wells Fargo monthly expense reporting activity, GL coding, contacting employees with missing documentation or balances owed
- File business license renewals, personal property tax returns and unclaimed property
- Research, document and report state use tax
- Coordinate and secure banking supplies and service requests
- Assist in the review and reconciliation of GL accounts
- Assist in the filing of Census reports
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and controls
- Assist Accounts Payable in the routing, coding, and entering of vendor invoices
- Assist Accounts Payable with the mailing and distribution of checks, including the use of the envelope stuffing and postage machines

- Assist with misc. cash receipts deposits
- Backup of other accounting duties as needed
This position is at The PARR's corporate office in Hillsboro, Oregon. The office setting is fast paced and interactive with multiple departments.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to work indoors in a normal office environment
- Must be able to grasp, talk, hear, and operate a computer and keyboard
- Must be able to drive a vehicle when necessary
- Both local and overnight travel will be required
