Under the Direction of the Recreation & Signature events leadership team, Summer Family Adventure Interns are responsible for creating memorable experiences for all Callaway guests and visitors. Specific duties are discussed in interviews but may include the following: facilitating and/or instructing recreational activities for our Summer Camp program for ages 4 - 17 and adults, preparing and maintaining recreation equipment and craft supply inventory, assisting in daily operation of Summer Family Adventure camp programs and evening events, and creative collaboration of program development. A primary function of this, and every other job at Callaway Resort & Gardens, is to ensure that each member, guest, and visitor receives the highest caliber service.
Responsibilities:
Assist in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating recreation activities for Summer Family Adventure camp program, and various signature events.
Cross-train on daily operation duties in multiple Recreation outlets including one or more of the following areas: Treetop Adventure & Zipline Course, Bike Rentals, Beach Rentals, Fishing.
Provide clear communication of instructions during all camp programs to a diverse range of campers from ages 4 to adult. Must effectively and safely describe each activity before start and monitor participation throughout event to ensure guest satisfaction.
Assist with preparing equipment for each activity before start and ensure proper clean up and storage at the end of each activity. Maintain inventory of all supplies after activity end.
Conduct and maintain documentation as assigned, including participant waivers, camper registration, lunch menus, and incident reports.
Lead evening entertainment and social events.
Attend all required program staff meetings and trainings.
Wear issued uniform and adhere to dress code.
Create a nurturing, positive and professional environment while promoting program policies and procedures amongst staff, volunteers and community.
Communicate clearly, honestly, and respectfully with all staff, participants, parents, and volunteers.
All other duties as specified during staff training and onboarding.
Qualifications:
Graduating High school Seniors
Ability to work effectively with children and adults, as well as people of all ages and abilities.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to work effectively with a team.
Passion for programming, guest experience, and entertaining large groups.
Completion of a background check & valid driver's license.
Ability to stand for long periods of time, and work outside in extreme weather conditions such as, but not limited to, heat, cold, rain, wind.
Able to lift at least 50 lbs.
Current CPR and First Aid, or willingness to acquire certification.
