Responsible for monitoring, analyzing and reporting financial information.  These duties may include variance analysis, account reconciliation and preparation of various financial reports and financial statements. Also, responsible for resolving customer inquiries and problems.

• Processes financial transactions including journal entries, invoices, cost allocations, recovery cases, escheats, etc.
• Reconciles account activity to the general ledger.
• Assists with the preparation of various financial information such as budgets, department performance measures, impact studies and business cases to allow for timely, accurate and meaningful decision support. 
• Assists with preparation of various financial or regulatory reports and/or statements for management and/or parties external to BCBSM (e.g., auditors, customers, providers, BCBSA, FEP, OFIS, etc). 
• Assists in developing and documenting desk level procedures for the department. 
• Responds to customer inquiries and resolves problems. 
• Interfaces with various departments and management. 
• Responds to adhoc requests and inquiries. 
• Performs other assignments, duties or functions as assigned by management.

"Qualifications"

• Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance or related field required.
• Zero (0) to two (2) years' experience in related field.
• Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Strong developed verbal and written communication skills.
• General knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
• Proficient in current industry standard PC applications and systems (e.g., Excel, Microsoft Access, etc.)
• Working knowledge of Oracle Fusion general ledger and mainframe systems.
• Other related skills and/or abilities may be required to perform this job.
