Job Descrption
The Instructional Designer is responsible for designing training curricula that improve employee performance and create a robust onboarding experience through a combination of instructor-led training, e-learnings, job aids, etc. They produce high-quality learning solutions and ensure they are delivered by facilitation team while partnering with leaders and SMEs.
RESPONSIBILITIES/TASKS:
Work with stakeholders from different parts of the organization to analyze their needs and design robust training solutions that meet their needs
Analyze whether business requests can be satisfied through training vs. other types of interventions
Help create instructional design processes to support enhanced capabilities
Work independently with internal subject matter experts (SMEs), training facilitators to design, develop, and deliver solutions
Apply creative design to the discipline of instructional design with an emphasis on multimedia
Develop training materials, including facilitator support guides, end user guides, and other learning activities as needed for assigned training projects.
Plan, coordinate, and develop support materials and communications for divisional and/or corporate projects
Have a deep understanding of learner roles to ensure that learning solutions meet the needs of stakeholders and end users
Maintain knowledge of new learning approaches, technology, and tools through continuous research to ensure our solutions deliver innovation
Develop assessments that measure learner outcomes including productivity and understanding
Develop and communicate timelines and provide updates to stakeholders.
Prioritize effectively to manage multiple concurrent projects and initiatives.
May have responsibly for LMS Administrator tasks, including upload of new content, updated to existing content and curricula creation
Runs Quality Assurance of LMS housed training
Management and organization of training content
Work with facilitation team to ensure content is delivered in high quality
Work independently with internal subject matter experts (SMEs), training facilitators to design, develop, and deliver solutions
Develop training materials, including eLearning Modules, Videos, interactive PDFs, and Assessments, compatible with data tracking capabilities of the Learning Management System (LMS)
Develop instructional programs that leverage new technologies and multimedia
Apply interaction design and interactive learning principles to instructional solutions for adult learners
Select, modify, and integrate existing instructional materials that employ multimedia and emerging technologies
Collaborate with internal teams, external teams, and management to ensure requirements are being met and projects are kept on schedule.
Coach subject matter experts at all levels on Digital Training development
EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION OR EQUIVALENT EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree in Instructional Design or related degree or ID certifications
Master’s Degree preferred
Three (3) years’ experience in content development (ILT, VILT, eLearning)
Three (3) years’ experience with ID/LXD tools such as Storyline, Rise, Camtasia, etc.
Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects, Indesign, and Illustrator preferred
Graphic Design or Multimedia Development experience preferred
Experience in designing and developing computer-based training, storyboards, and lessons to be used in a variety of delivery media is required
Knowledge of adult learning theories with the ability to create content relevance by mapping courses with perceived learner needs and plan instructional strategies relevant for wide variety of adult learners
Experience with documentation of training
Experience with LMS
Technical writing skills
Proven project leadership or employee leadership skills/experience.
Knowledge of instructional design principles
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed in an office setting with no unusual hazards.

Pay Range
Actual compensation decision relies on the consideration of internal equity, candidate’s skills and professional experience, geographic location, market and other potential factors. It is not standard practice for an offer to be at or near the top of the range, and therefore a reasonable estimate for this role is between $60,800 and $101,700.
