Wondering what to expect in starting a career at Clean Harbors?
InSite Chemists perform a wide range of tasks, including:
• Make waste pickups at labs as needed. • Prepare computer-generated packing lists, labels, manifests, and land disposal restrictions notifications. • Identify unknown laboratory chemicals when they are encountered. • Perform inspections of staging, accumulating and storage areas to ensure proper housekeeping procedures and compliance. • Inspect storage area for leaks or spills. • Inspect drums for compliance with labeling regulations. • Collect, segregate, and properly package waste chemicals for disposal to maximize efficiency and maintain compliance. • Sampling and profiling of new waste streams or any wastes needing analytical testing. • Prepare all necessary tracking paperwork. • Utilize CHOICE waste management software to efficiently and accurately manage waste program. • Assign proper waste codes to all materials that are designated for disposal. • Maintain and manage waste profile data. • Evaluate specialty waste materials such as gas cylinders and potentially explosive compounds and determine disposal options.Other Duties as Assigned
What does it take to work for Clean Harbors?
- High School diploma;
- Valid driver’s license;
- Hold or willing to obtain a CDL Class B;
- Prior chemical handling experience or chemistry knowledge preferred;
- BS/BA in Chemistry, Biology, or Environmental Science a plus;
- Willingness to complete a background check, drug test, and physical.
