Our people division is growing, and we are looking for a Sr. Open Pit Engineer at our Carlin operation.

Responsibilities:
- The assignment of duties in short-range planning, long-range planning, dump planning, road design, dispatch engineering and/or other engineering projects as required within the Cortez Engineering group
- Develop and communicate engineering plans, sequences, dumping priorities, etc. to operations and other stakeholders on site and ensure plans are carried out safely and efficiently
- Assist in end of month reporting for leach pad deliveries as well as other necessary regulatory reporting
- Work closely with the mine operations team to execute on designs and plans safely and efficiently
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mining Engineering or related field or equivalent experience required
- Five (5) to eight (8) years’ experience in open pit engineering preferred
- Excellent safety record with the ability to demonstrate safety leadership required
- Team leadership, problem solving, and excellent verbal and written communication skills required
- Ability to work outside in varied weather conditions for extended periods of time required
- Ability to cross-train within the mining engineering group required
- Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of this job required
