Performs all the duties of an Operating Engineer. Promotes a team atmosphere in which everyone is encouraged to contribute to the best of their ability. Acts as a team leader in support of Plant Operations staff. Establishes work priorities and work schedules, assigns work, and reviews work for quality, staff productivity and timeliness. Acts as a customer advocate for Facilities and Support Services. Provides monthly improvement report to Department Manager. Reports to the Manager of Facilities & Support Services.

Required Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree Any mechanical field such as HVAC, Welding, Plumbing, Biomechanical, Mechatronics, etc. combined with 3 years Stationary Engineer experience working in a power plant or central utility plant. Or
- 5 years of Power Plant or Central Utility Plant experience; Hospital experience is a PLUS.
- upon hire: Current City of Los Angeles Steam Engineer – Unlimited HP License. Or
- upon hire: Current City of Los Angeles Steam Engineer – 500 HP License.
- upon hire: Driving may be necessary as part of this role. Caregivers are required to comply with all state laws and requirements for driving. Caregivers will be expected to provide proof of driver license and auto insurance upon request. See policy for additional information.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree Biomechanical, Mechatronics, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or other Mechanical related degree, combined with 3 years Stationary Engineer experience working in a power plant or central utility plant. Or equivalent educ/experience.

The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
