About the Job:
An opportunity has arisen for a Health Club Plant Engineer to join our team at The Carlton Tower Jumeirah. The main duties and responsibilities of this role are:
- Maintain and operate the health club's mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, including HVAC, pool equipment, lighting, and electrical distribution.
- Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance tasks on equipment and facilities to ensure optimal performance, safety, and compliance with regulations.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment malfunctions and mechanical failures promptly to minimize downtime and ensure uninterrupted operation of health club facilities.
- Coordinate with external contractors and service providers for specialized maintenance, repairs, and installations as needed.
- Monitor and control energy consumption and utility usage, implementing efficiency measures to reduce operational costs and environmental impact.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment history, and inventory, using computerized maintenance management systems.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules and plans, prioritizing tasks based on criticality and operational requirements.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, industry standards, and manufacturer guidelines for equipment maintenance and operation.
- Provide technical support and guidance to health club staff, including training on equipment operation, maintenance procedures, and safety protocols.
- Stay informed about advancements in building automation systems, energy management technologies, and industry best practices, continually seeking opportunities for improvement and optimization.
About you:
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:
- Proven experience in maintenance and operations management, particularly in a health club, fitness centre, or hospitality environment.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, including pool equipment, and water treatment systems.
- Experience with building automation systems and energy management technologies to optimize facility operations and reduce energy consumption.
- Proficiency in using computerized maintenance management systems and other relevant software applications for maintenance planning, scheduling, and record-keeping.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders, including health club staff, contractors, and vendors.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively to address complex technical issues and challenges encountered in health club facility maintenance.
