Salary: FC5 £25,829.49 - £28,251.00

Working Pattern: 36 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

Job Details

We are looking for an experienced candidate to join the Kirkcaldy Area Communities & Neighbourhoods Team.

The post will support the implementation of the Local Community Plan and applicants should have strong communication, administrative and organisational skills.

To assist the Communities and Neighbourhood Area Team with the development and implementation of initiatives and projects, which deliver local community plan priorities.

Research, gather and present detailed information that supports the local community planning approach taken in an area, and provide that information to managers, partners, local groups, elected members and members of the public.

Update documentation relating to the Local Community Plan as well as other action plans in conjunction with the Area Team Managers.

Undertake monitoring of budget spend on local projects and prepare monitoring reports as required, which highlight under spend/overspend issues, and adherence to the objectives of the local community plan.

Assist local project teams to implement specific aspects of the local community plan.

Deal with daily enquiries from a variety of sources including the general public, elected members, local community groups as well as internal and external colleagues.

The Person

The candidate should be:

  • Educated to SCQF level 4, which includes National 4 or Standard Grades at General level or O’ Grades or equivalent.
  • Able to deal with financial information and budgeting matters and will be expected to use a range of IT systems. Experience of Budgeting and financial procedures is essential.
  • Confident in gather and presenting detailed information to managers, community organisations and elected members.
  • Have some understanding of social inclusion and community regeneration issues.
  • Able to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
  • Someone with an eye for detail and be able to carry out tasks with accuracy.
  • Able to demonstrate good organisational skills and work to deadlines.
  • Competent to work in an administrative/organisational capacity and be able to prepare and produce a variety of documents and information/publicity using appropriate IT packages and systems.
  • Able to use own initiative, dealing independently with a variety of tasks and individuals.
