If you have an interest in the provision of school meals for children of all ages, you could be perfect for this career. Why not join one of our many teams of Catering Assistants in schools and nurseries within St Andrews and the surrounding area.
We currently have several permanent vacancies to join our teams:
- Greyfriars RC Primary School - 22.5 hours per week (as required 4.5 hours per day from 9:30am to 2pm)
- Canongate Primary School - 10 hours per week (as required 2 hours per day between 12 noon to 2pm)
You will earn a competitive salary of £22,525.71 pro-rata and have access to a range of benefits, including
- £12.00 per hour to start, plus extra payments for shift work, including weekends.
- Pay is every 4 weeks and annualised for 38 week contracts.

This work is about providing customer service, ensuring pupils and staff receive hot or cold meals every school day. You will go home each day knowing you have made a difference whether it's Breakfast Club, morning break or lunch you have served.
No previous experience required as on the job training is given working towards a Food Hygiene Certificate.
The Person
Ability to provide a regular and effective service, working alone or as part of a team.
Before confirming to your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
