Would you like to work for an award winning Planning Service? If you are about to graduate or have recently graduated or looking to develop your career in Planning, Fife has a lot to offer.
Our systems and technology have been developed making it easy for our staff to work from any location. That means that whilst we are based in Glenrothes, the posts are offered on the basis of a blended working arrangement, which can include a significant element of working from home.
The Graduate Planner post provides a great opportunity for a graduate to gain experience of a wide range of activities across the teams within the Planning Service. The successful candidate will be dealing with planning applications for a varied range of development types and contribute to the progression and monitoring of the development plan.
Over the 2 year term, the successful candidate will be supported in the completion of their logbook to demonstrate professional competencies in support of their application for Chartered Membership of the RTPI.
The post will allow you to work within different areas of the Planning Service so there is a great opportunity to expand your range of experience. Opportunities are available for postholders to be involved in areas like validation and processing of planning applications, policy development, and to gain experience of specialist areas such as archaeology, built heritage and climate change. Personal development is supported through our extensive CPD programme and our network of professional mentors.
The Person
We are looking for enthusiastic and self-motivated individuals with a positive attitude to customer care; applicants must be able to demonstrate a level of competence and knowledge of planning and experience commensurate with the post/grade applied for.

Further Information
We are currently shaping our future workstyles however, in light of current advice, we are introducing blended home/office working that will include office access days each week with homeworking for the remainder of your working time.
